About Samuel Shannon
I’m a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at Colorado School of Mines, driven to contribute to innovation in industrial systems. I have hands-on experience with heavy machinery maintenance and steel production processes, learning to troubleshoot equipment and support operational workflows. In fast-paced, high-stress environments, I’ve strengthened my adaptability, communication, and collaborative problem-solving. I’ve also gained foundational experience in fabrication techniques such as stick/MIG welding, manual lathes, and drill presses, and I’m expanding my capabilities in 3D CAD and prototyping using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Inventor. My exposure to industrial and lab settings has sharpened my ability to analyze mechanical systems, assist in performance optimization, and contribute to hands-on design challenges. I’m eager to apply and grow these skills in engineering roles that involve real-world impact and continuous learning opportunities.
