ABOUT SAMUEL LOUVAN
I am an applied scientist at Amazon Alexa AI working on Natural Language Processing (NLP) projects. I have worked on improving answer ranking model on Alexa Question Answering to return the best answer to customers. I demonstrated and enjoyed working end-to-end applied research, starting from literature review, developing proof of concept and experimentation, productionizing the solution, and collaborate with engineers for deployment. Before Amazon, I did my PhD in University of Trento and affiliated with Fondazione Bruno Kessler - NLP unit. My thesis was about low resource Natural Language Understanding (NLU) for Task-Oriented Dialogue Systems. I developed methods to improve model performance with limited labeled data.
