ABOUT SAMUEL HOSKINS

I am a qualified Health and Safety Practitioner and Environmental Health Practitioner. I hold a first class degree in Environmental Health, registration with the Environmental Health Officer Registration Board (EHRB) and the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. As a Health and Safety Advisor, I am responsible for supporting managers and directors across the organisation with health and safety advice and guidance for a range of different services. These services include highways (planned and reactive works), leisure (swimming pools, gyms and fitness centres), events (large private and local authority organised events), children’s care (Ofsted regulated provisions), grounds maintenance (large parks and open spaces) and provide support to a housing association (Arms Length Management Organisation). I previously practiced as an Environmental Health Officer within the commercial team of two busy local authorities. As a regulator, I have gained significant experience of the regulation of health and safety at work in a variety of workplaces and have also been heavily involved with event safety (Safety Advisory Group), proactive LAC health and safety work and food hygiene & standards inspection of a wide range of businesses from international supermarket chains to large multi-site manufacturers and approved establishments. Other duties have included pollution control under the LAPPC and LA-IPPC regieme of part B and A2 installations, air quality review, outbreak investigations, primary authority work, acoustic monitoring, and planning work. Previous roles have included Health and Safety Advisor, Technical Officer, Laboratory Technician and engineer.
