About Samuel Horowitz
Sam Horowitz is an experienced fundraiser with demonstrated expertise in nonprofit leadership. Sam studied at The George Washington University (GW) where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in American Studies and his Master of Arts in Education and Human Development. Sam has been engaged in GW as a passionate supporter of the university’s food pantry, The Store, and previously served on both GW’s Division of Student Affairs Advisory Council as well as the Leadership Committee of the New York City Young Alumni Network. Sam currently works in Development for Northwell Health, one of the nation\'s largest health care systems. Sam is a member of the principal gifts fundraising team focusing on Manhattan-based projects as well as the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. He has been integral to many organization-wide initiatives including individual giving efforts, the annual Feinstein Summer Concert fundraiser and the annual Advancing Women in Science and Medicine (AWSM) Awards. In 2023, Sam was selected as an Inaugural Intermountain Northwell Fellow to share development best practices amongst members of Intermountain Foundation and Northwell Health Foundation and to create career development opportunities for members of each team. Philanthropy is also personally important to Sam. After the loss of a close family member, he led his family in founding The Paul Foundation, which works to eradicate lymphoma and provide adolescents and young adults with the resources they need to fight cancer. He organized various external partnerships on behalf of the Foundation which led to $1 million in support of its mission. The Paul Foundation has been honored with the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award and Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center’s 100 Award. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sam joined WeGaveWhat in a volunteer capacity as Chief Development Officer to advise on philanthropic strategy. Founded by Danielle Bernstein of @WeWoreWhat, WeGaveWhat works to uplift nonprofits and small businesses by leveraging WeWoreWhat’s popular Instragram platform to amplify their missions. Additionally, Sam is a member of the Young Leaders Collective Board of UJA-Federation of NY, the world’s largest local philanthropy. In 2017, Sam was honored by Long Island Business News at its annual 30 Under 30 awards.
