ABOUT SAM GUSSMAN-TOH

I use my technical background and a systems approach to design end-to-end innovation programs. I’m serving as the Lead Program Specialist at ARPA-H’s commercialization office where I co-run the ARPA-H Small Business Program and design/implement programs to eliminate the barriers that prevent ground breaking research from becoming life-changing products. Prior work in the DoD managing rapid prototyping programs to deliver Horizon-3 capabilities and to modernize the DoD\'s logistics and supply chain. Outside of work, I am pursuing a graduate degree and doing regulatory science research with partners at the FDA. My research is focused on developing effective, least-burdensome standalone testing methods for AI software as a medical devices (SaMDs). I am specifically focused on realtime video applications doing autonomous detection and diagnostics, and using the standalone testing for colonoscopy CADe as a foundation to develop extensible testing frameworks.
