Sam May is PwC’s Global Financial Services Assurance Leader and the lead global engagement partner for one of the firm’s largest financial services G-SIB clients based in New York. Over the course of his career, he has also served as the leader of PwC’s U.S. Consumer Finance Group, focusing on accounting, regulatory, strategic, and operational advisory services for banking and other consumer lending clients. Sam’s career has been centered on banking and capital markets, with deep expertise in lending, credit, technical accounting, operational processes, and controls. He has led both assurance and advisory engagements for a broad range of clients, including major global financial institutions, non-bank lenders, broker-dealers, and large corporates, helping them navigate significant transformation such as business model reinvention, risk management enhancement, public offerings, acquisitions, divestitures, and regulatory change.He is passionate about developing people, building skills, and creating opportunities for career growth, with a particular focus on upskilling teams in data and AI.
