Samuel Drezdzon joined Susman Godfrey’s litigation team with a focus on high-tech patent disputes. Samuel’s experience includes patent trials before U.S. District Courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. He has also successfully argued inter partes review cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and negotiated licensing agreements for patent portfolios declared standard essential. Samuel has experience with patent matters involving electronics and computer technologies such as telecommunications, video codecs, wireless and internet networks, and semiconductor fabrication. Prior to joining Susman Godfrey, he worked on the Apple v. Samsung patent litigation involving smartphone technology. He has litigated cases in district courts throughout the country and at every stage - from motions to dismiss, to settlement, to bench and jury trials and appeals.During law school, Samuel served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Chief ALJ Charles E. Bullock at the U.S. International Trade Commission, a legal intern at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, and an editor for the AIPLA QJ. He received his master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Duke University where he co-invented U.S. patent nos. 8,009,942 and 8,855,451 on magnetic optical waveguides.
