I lead the FSU\'s attempts to influence the legislative process. We campaign to ensure that legislation (both primary and secondary) enhances rather than diminishes free speech rights in the UK. Major recent campaigns have included the Higher Education (Freedom of Speech) Act, Online Safety Bill, Workers Protection Bill, and Payment Services Regulations. Working with the FSU\'s legal counsel, we draft and propose amendments to Bills that are frequently either taken up or proposed in a different format by the Government. Unlike all too many, we really get into the nitty-gritty of the legislative process and use all of the levers of Parliamentary procedure to win. I also work on the Union\'s media work, delivering front-page agenda-setting coverage on our issues.
