   I currently teach an experientially-oriented modern world history course called “Comparative Cultures” (9th grade) and a seminar for upperclassmen called “Capitalism & Its Discontents.” In my time at GFS, I’ve designed and facilitated mini-courses on the Beatles, the history of African-American music, Costa Rican history, mycology, and non-market alternatives to mainstream practices. I have also run collaborative songwriting workshops for students of all experience levels. I serve on the school’s Quakerism committee and clerk its Stewardship committee. I co-founded and help lead the Campus Climate Coalition, a collaborative group of stakeholders from across the school community, which seeks to build awareness and spur action around sustainability and environmental issues. I am faculty advisor to the school’s award-winning student magazine, Earthquake, and I advise the student-led Environmental Action Club. I also serve as academic advisor to a group of ninth graders, and I supervise a number of students in their work on “directed independent studies.”
