About Sam Rubin
President & CEO of LightPath Technologies (NASDAQ: LPTH), with over two decades of experience in photonics, infrared imaging, and strategic business transformation.Raised in Israel in a family deeply rooted in optics and laser innovation, I began working with lasers in high school and later founded and sold an optical communications startup. I hold an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern and an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School.Prior to joining LightPath, I spent 15 years at Thorlabs, where I led global growth from ~$40M to ~$500M in revenue, established and scaled China operations to ~$100M, managed acquisitions, and oversaw nearly every functional area of the business.Since 2020, I have led LightPath’s transformation from a commoditized optical components manufacturer to a provider of advanced infrared imaging systems for defense, automotive, and industrial markets. This strategic shift has positioned the company for significant growth through multi-year, high-value programs with major global OEMs.My leadership approach centers on creating and capturing long-term value, diversifying high-impact opportunities, and building strong, capable teams to ensure sustained organizational success.
