About Samantha Richardson

Hi, I’m Samantha (she/her) — a designer, artist, and founder of Posy Press, a Risograph-focused design studio based at the Goat Farm Arts Center in Atlanta. My work bridges art, design, and community — using color, print, and storytelling to create work that’s vibrant, tactile, and people-centered.At Posy Press, I specialize in brand systems, publications, and experimental RISO prints and animations that celebrate culture and connection. My practice is rooted in feminist, community-driven design, helping organizations and artists tell their stories with care and authenticity.I’ve been offering design consulting since 2018, working with a range of mission-driven organizations. For the past several years, I’ve partnered with the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, the Lakeshore Foundation, and 1504. These long-term collaborations have allowed me to build sustainable, ongoing relationships that balance strategic design with hands-on creative work.Originally from rural Alabama, I carry a deep love for storytelling, nature, and the creative spirit of Southern communities. I also draw inspiration from Japan — where RISO technology originates — and from my own study of the Japanese language. Traveling and connecting with other RISO printers, including those in Japan, continues to expand my creative practice.Before founding Posy Press, I spent nearly a decade in brand and advertising design, leading campaigns for global brands like Greenlight and BlackRock, as well as national nonprofits. My work has been recognized with two American Advertising Federation National Mosaic Awards (2018, 2024), Best in Show at the Birmingham Advertising Awards, 10 Gold Addys, 4 Silver Addys, and a People’s Choice Telly Award. I also teach on Skillshare, where over 900 students have taken my course on digital advertising design. Outside the studio, I love growing orchids, curating my space, and finding new ways to connect creativity, community, and entrepreneurship.
