I am currently playing the role of Program Manager for Europe’s largest retail transformation initiative, leading one of the most complex systems implementation programin the sector. This multi-year programme is not just a technology uplift—it is a complete reimagining of how a modern retailer operates, enabling a step-change in both data capabilities and customer experience. The programme involves the separation and replacement of over 2,500 systems inherited from a former global owner, laying the technological foundation for sustainable growth and competitiveness. As part of this journey, I have been fortunate to lead a cross-functional team through multiple high-impact cutovers and system migrations, including: • Cutover of 1,400+ stores and 30+ depots onto a new enterprise core, ensuring business continuity at scale. • Migration of 9.6 million historic online fashion orders to a new e-commerce platform, securing the customer promise of one of the UK’s largest fashion brands. • Launch of a next-gen store picking system, streamlining the movement of 4+ million items daily, supported by trained colleagues and upgraded devices. • Rolling out of the new HR solution which positively impacts colleagues. The backdrop of this programme stems from a major corporate divestiture, where the retailer transitioned from its former global parent company. To ensure continuity of operations, transitional service agreements (TSAs) were put in place, which created a non-negotiable, time-critical window to complete the separation and build independent technology foundations. Delivering within such a compressed and high-stakes timeline demanded strong governance, meticulous planning, and exceptional collaboration across business and technology teams. For me, this programme represents more than just a separation—it is about orchestrating one of Europe’s most significant technology-led transformations, ensuring that a leading retailer is equipped with the best systems in the grocery sector to deliver for millions of customers every day.
