Since my early school days, I could not bear poorly spoken or written statements. I would correct people mid-sentence if they made a mistake, and as a reader, I would lose interest in something as soon as I noticed a grammatical error in it! This was soon observed by the much older people around me, and before I knew it, I was unofficially proofreading and suggesting edits to university assignments, term papers, SOPs, and the like, even before I completed High School! This is why, even before I got a formal education in Literature, I was editing and proofreading complex research papers and writing content pieces either completely on my own, or assisting someone in writing them. Writing and editing content soon became my favourite pastime as a teenager and as I grew up, I realized that not only did I have a keen eye to notice grammatical errors and poorly written statements in general, but I also had the ability to turn any type of content - be it written or oral - into the kind of content someone like me would engage with. I realized that I had a gift that very few people possess and decided to pursue content writing as a career. My first Internship - my first introduction to the corporate world - was related to Content Writing. It shaped the path of my career for the next two years, as I went on to intern as a Content Writer for several organizations, Corporate and Non-profit alike - using my keen eye for perfect grammar into writing compelling content pieces for them. Owing to my skills as a content writer capable of convincing people through my words, I was hired by Zomato as soon as I graduated, and was promoted to the post of Social Media Associate shortly after. My job profile had many responsibilities, one of which was to occasionally write content that was used for formal communication by my superiors. But as I kept gaining experience and getting promoted within the organization, my job eventually started to stray far away from my passion of being a content writer. So, I decided to part with my well-paying job in September 2022 - I am now experimenting, learning, and looking for interesting opportunities as a content writer!
