National Science Foundation (NSF) funded projectResearch in my laboratory focuses on developing 3D bioprinted vascularized tissues for both Space and Earth-based applications. Leveraging advances in bioengineering, biomaterials, and 3D tissue models, we create in vitro systems that more accurately replicate the structure, physiology, and function of tissues seen in vivo. These 3D tissue models offer significant advantages over traditional 2D counterparts, providing more physiologically relevant representations of cell morphology, proliferation gradients, drug response, gene expression, and overall cell behavior.
