ABOUT SAMOON TASMIM

As a mental health professional, educator, and systems consultant, I work at the intersection of healing and justice. With a PhD in Counseling and Spirituality, I’ve spent over a decade supporting historically marginalized communities—through trauma-informed therapy, culturally responsive program design, clinical supervision, and DEI frameworks that move beyond checkbox inclusion. My work blends narrative and psychodynamic approaches, intersectional policy insight, and deep community engagement. Whether I’m supervising clinicians, designing resilience-building programs for newcomers and immigrants, developing mental health access tools, or advocating for equity in public systems, my focus remains the same: to honour lived experience and create structures that sustain healing. I’ve led and collaborated on projects spanning- Culturally adapted mental health services - DEI and anti-oppression training - Policy reform - Intake systems for mental health, food security, GBV, and youth rehabilitation - Interfaith and cross-cultural healing initiatives My approach is grounded in compassion, accountability, and a belief that systems can—and must—be reimagined through the lens of those most impacted.
