Programmed our robot for our season from 20••••23 & 20••••24, creating paths during Auto for it to follow and certain modes/abilities and functions during TeleOp. Helped fundraise over by creating and leading our sponsorship pitches. Currently Project Manager for our team, where I am working to delegate tasks to help our season run smoothly.

When you think of Illinois, what do you think of? Well, when I think of it, all I think about is corn. Fields upon fields of the stuff - and the waste that results from it is a major problem. Recently, I did research on using corn husk fibers as a low-cost alternative to removing lead from water, and at a state science fair exposé, I was awarded the Jay and Jeremy Hoffman Memorial Award, an award given to a project that has a high real-world application. I chose to see the effects of lead adsorption because lead is a major issue in the Peoria county - in fact, 1 in 20 children have high levels of lead in their blood, according to an annual lead surveillance report for the Peoria County. I ended up leveling out at removing about 71.92% of the lead in water by using a chemical in corn husk called hemicellulose, a chemical that has a high adsorbent potential of heavy metals commonly found in grain husks. Hello! My name is Sammit Chidambaram, and I am a junior at Dunlap High School. I have experience in wet lab techniques like PCR, dissection, and more, as well as numerous skills with programming in Java & experience in breadboarding and circuit design. Currently, I am looking for a mentor to research inhibiting algal growth or solving other water quality issues that affect the Midwest.
