Experience

  1. Research Assistant

    Berkeley Economics

Jan 2017 — Present · Berkeley, CA, US

In the Fall semester of my second year at Cal, I accepted a position as a research assistant in the Department of Economics working on projects in the health economics sphere under the direction of Grant Graziani. I have used stata and other statistical programming languages extensively in my projects, including constructing an annual mortality rate database using Census data, relying on a complex set of assumptions and economic models to infer mortality annually between census years using death and birth data. This technique has led to the ability to compare the impact of health policy changes, such as the reintegration of southern hospitals. Most recently, I finished a draft paper and undergraduate thesis on the ACA\'s impact on emergency medicine demand, using a differences in differences model from ambulance data.
