ABOUT SAM MARX

I love to bring people together to create positive change. For almost 15 years I’ve worked in the nonprofit sector with organizations tackling issues such as the environment, healthcare, civil rights, housing access, racial equity, and gender equity in order to identify their core technical and communications needs and drive action. I do this by listening to the most pressing challenges from a wide variety of stakeholders in order to create and implement strategic and tactical plans that will bring audiences together and create measurable change. My strength is zooming out and getting to the root causes of why an organization wants to communicate out to the world – what are we hoping to change, for whom, and why? Through collaboration across diverse voices and data-backed learnings I speak openly and compassionately to ongoing challenges while finding innovative ways to leverage the team’s strengths to achieve our goals. My communication and training skills take advantage of each organization’s unique story and enable clients to tell that story in the most effective way possible. I’ve also trained hundreds of people on how to identify their most impactful organizational needs themselves, develop technical systems and content to address those needs, and navigate any technology, capacity, or other hurdles that may stand in their way. Skills: Digital campaign development, communications training, project management, Google Analytics, and email and social analytics Industries: Nonprofits of all sizes, online learning, independent arts, food and beverage Interests: record collecting and low-budget movies
