ABOUT SAMIRA R. NOORALI
Samira R. Noorali is a Houston based writer and musician. In her youth, she was intrigued by the notion of loss and wrote poems on subjects such as grief, healing and the process of transition. Her musical sensibilities were also influenced by these multilayered ideas and emotions as she studied piano, choral music, opera and Hindustani classical music. Her most recent compositions showcase a cross-culture and cross-genre sound incorporating Eastern and Western elements. Noorali recently wrote, composed and directed a documentary-based stage theatrical production entitled \"Stories: Our American Journey\" which toured the United States/ A well rounded writer, Noorali has written for Magazines, websites and even for TV. Her illustrated poetry book,\"A Simple Rebirth\" has taken on new form as a theatrical production with a cast of nine featuring a beautiful, original musical soundtrack. It has played at Pandora\'s Box in Dallas and Notsuoh Theater in Houston. Noorali provides lectures and workshops on writing and music has presented her work at universities, addictions clinics, trauma groups, conferences, libraries, literary events, art shows, retreats, corporate luncheons, grocery stores and many more unique venues! She has also taught music lessons to people of all ages for many years and deeply enjoys providing a unique and innovative perspective on music to her students.
