Principal engineer within the containers lab, streamlining development of kubernetes as a service to be consumed by engineering teams across the bank in GCP/GKE.Past feature team lead - leading development of automated namespace vending solution/namespace as a service on shared kubernetes allowing tenants to on-board onto kubernetes via an internal development platform. Implemented with Python, GitHub Actions and Harness pipelines, including unit, BDD, integration and E2E testing.Implementing gitops using Anthos Config Management to maintain kubernetes state and enforce policy/config such as OPA/gatekeeper and tenant namespaces. Leading design and implementation of kubernetes addon deployment via Anthos Config Management, including istio, cert manager, secret store csi driver etc. Templated solution to easily allow deployment of new addons via gitops. Utilising Kustomize and Helm for templating.Designed and developed a Kubernetes Operator for managing GitHub App access tokens for use with Anthos Config Sync. Developed in Go, implemented integration testing and automation using Github Actions and integrated with Hashicorp Vault.Led design of ingress via GCP LB to shared Kubernetes platform, utilising technologies like Private Service Connect, Istio etc.Driving best standards/practises, shifting left and technical documentationConducting regular POCs and high/low level designs, reviewing with stakeholders and tech forums etc.Up-skilling and supporting junior engineers including line management.Recruiting new hires, leading technical interviews/challenges
