ABOUT SAMIR MOURAD CHENTOUF P. ENG.
Over the past few years I have worked on different projects for various corporations, among them Sorel Forge Inc. Canada, one of North America Leading Forging Corporations. My work consisted of generating physical properties for different grades of steel. I have also produced continuous cooling transformation diagrams for various steel grades. A study on the chemical heterogeneity generating microstructural heterogeneity in various steel grades has also been initiated. A second project was for Messier-Bugatti-Dowty Canada, on which I studied the phase transformation during the heat treatment of the landing gears used on Airbus A380. I am confident that the generated data will be useful in optimizing the heat treatment of the landing gears. A third project was for Verbom Inc. Canada, on which I examined the microstructure of Aluminum 5083 subjected to super-plastic-forming. Besides these responsibilities, I have also managed laboratory equipment, including a scanning electron microscope, a laser particle analyser, a confocal microscope, and an opto-digital microscope. Since 2017, I have been working in Aerospace industry at Pratt and Whitney company starting as a support of production and after few years as a materials engineer/investigator in failure analysis.
