Trade Surveillance is responsible for routinely monitoring and analyzing trading activities by the Firm, Employees and Related Accounts, and Clients for potential violations of regulations and Firm policies.\\\\n\\\\nTrade Surveillance reviews various reports and scrutinizes transactions that may\\\\npose regulatory, financial, or compliance risks to the Firm; communicate concerns to Trade Floor Supervision; escalates issues to Management if necessary.\\\\n\\\\nSome of the main duties which I overlook as a compliance officer are as follows:\\\\n\\\\n- Reviewing trading activities related to equities, spot, fixed income, and listed and OTC derivatives products on a regular basis or as required by regulators or internal investigations to detect violations against market manipulation, and other breaches of securities trading regulations.\\\\n\\\\n-Conducting post-trade market-related surveillance to address alerts. Analyze and address alerts using SMARTS and other surveillance applications. Identify and investigate any potential exchange/marketplace and regulatory rule violations by clients and/or trader\\\\n\\\\nA few of the SMARTs alert which comes under my responsibility are:\\\\n\\\\nNormal Course Issuer Bid (uptick violation)\\\\nTrade throughs\\\\nFront Running\\\\nSpoofing\\\\nLayering\\\\nPrecedence\\\\nDouble Printing/ Churning\\\\nClient Principal Trading\\\\n\\\\n-Acting independently, conducting research, and performing analyses in support of regulatory or marketplace inquiries, investigations, and/or examinations; including internal matters escalated to Trade Floor Supervision. Recommend solutions and actions to resolve outstanding issues. Escalate matters requiring further investigation or specialist assistance.\\\\n\\\\n-Supporting effective testing of business supervision-related processes and controls, including identification of gaps in the existing trade surveillance processes.\\\\n\\\\n-Performing quarterly Trade Desk Reviews and escalating the same to a different line of business and management if any discrepancies are found.\\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n \\\\n\\\\n \\\\n
