As a research associate in one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in California, I screen and enroll patients for clinical studies, collect data, and observe physician-patient interactions in real-time. I assist with ongoing research aimed at improving emergency care and engage in weekly didactic sessions on clinical research and emergency medicine. This role has deepened my understanding of evidence-based care, strengthened my communication skills, and exposed me to the fast-paced, high-acuity environment of emergency medicine.

ABOUT SAMIN SAYAREH
I\'m a pre-med student with over 2,200 hours of clinical experience supporting diverse populations in emergency, trauma, hospice, and primary care settings. From translating for Farsi-speaking patients during vaccination clinics to supporting burn ICU and surgery teams at UC Davis Health, I’ve developed strong communication, advocacy, and patient care skills. My work as a medical assistant and pharmacy technician has deepened my commitment to providing accessible, culturally sensitive care.In addition to clinical work, I’ve contributed to research in neurology, chemistry, and emergency medicine, strengthening my understanding of evidence-based care and data-driven decision-making. I also served as an AmeriCorps forest mentor, tutored Afghan students, and pursued unique passions like beekeeping and hiking, which keep me grounded and connected to nature.Currently preparing for medical school, I’m passionate about mental health, refugee advocacy, and trauma-informed care. I\'m always eager to connect with others who believe in medicine as a tool for healing and social change.
