About Sami Cheema

Hello! I’m Sami (Sum-E), a Computer Science graduate from DePauw University with a strong passion for building impactful technology and expressing creativity through the arts.I’m currently working as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS) within the Cryptography organization on the Key Management Service (KMS) team, contributing to a Tier 0 service that supports critical security infrastructure across AWS.Previously, I interned at AWS in Summer 2025, where I worked on a security-focused project within KMS, building automation tools that improved operational efficiency for internal teams.During my time at DePauw, I founded and led three student organizations and organized over 20 campus events. I also worked closely with the Computer Science department as a lab tutor, gaining over 150 hours of teaching experience. Along the way, I completed an iOS App Development internship and built 45+ technical projects across areas like AI, full-stack development, and mobile applications.Outside of work, I’m deeply into music and art.
