ABOUT SAMI ULLAH

I am an accomplished Electrical Engineer with expertise in Project Coordination, Project Management, Construction Management, Operations and Maintenance. I am highly adept in task organization, planning and regulatory compliance. Over the time, I have demonstrated exceptional written/oral communication and critical thinking skills with proven experience in various organizations. Currently, I am working as Manager Operations Control Centre (OCC) for TransEd valley line LRT, consisting of Line Controllers, to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of daily light rail commuter train services for the citizens and visitors of Edmonton. I am responsible for managing staffing requirements, developing and implementing training programs, and coordinating with various departments to optimize operations. I provide continuous coaching and development to my team, fostering a collaborative effort among us and other departments to achieve operational excellence and meet daily performance targets. Previously, I have also worked as a Line Control Supervisor in the same setting before getting promoted as OCC Manager. For a considerable time I worked with the G&W Canada as a production line Assembler where I get a chance to work on the viper switches of some esteemed clients like Hydro One, London Hydro, Fortis Alberta and Duke Energy. I have also worked with Orange Line Metro Rail Transit System (OLMRTS) Pakistan. As an Assistant Manager Operations, my responsibilities include power supply management for the traction power (DC750V) and low voltage supply (440V). Also, I supervise the maintenance of traction transformers, dry type transformers, circuit breakers, isolators and other electrical equipment. In addition, I also prepare maintenance strategies for PM/CM and CBM. Furthermore, I have extensive experience in the construction and supervision of the High Voltage transmission lines with the leading engineering consultancy National Engineering Services Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. As a Junior Project Engineer, I was overseeing high voltage conductor inspection, stringing activities and keeping a close liaison between the client and the contractor. I have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. As far as my education is concerned then apart from my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from IUT Dhaka Bangladesh, I have done Masters in Business Administration from Punjab University Lahore and Masters in Development Studies and Public Policy from ITU Lahore.
