About Sami Chen
As an Earth scientist, I have had the unique opportunity to participate in research that scales from microbes to entire marine and terrestrial ecosystems through mixed research methods. I am a community oriented scientist with a passion for applied science projects that leverage the broader range of my strengths. My teaching focuses on systems level thinking, by leveraging Earth systems and design thinking. I am comfortable teaching across a variety of fields including but not limited to: Earth science, environmental science, ocean science, soil science, biology, biogeochemistry, and design thinking. Through mentorship and teaching, I wish to share my passion for earth sciences to inspire and train the next generation of earth scientists.
