Montréal, QC, CA

Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) are typically certified with respect to a set of specific design conditions defined in the IEC Standards. If any site-specific conditions are more severe than the tolerance limits assumed in the WTG design, then a more detailed structural assessment would have to be completed in subsequent steps to ensure the structural integrity of the turbine while operating in the climatic and environmental conditions prevailing at the wind farm.As a Project Engineer, my role stands as follows- Conduct in-depth wind resource assessment (using linear as well as CFD modelling) of the site-specific conditions (wind speeds, extremes, turbulence, etc.)- Recommend to Sales Department suitable turbine models to offer to our clients for each project and thus reduce financial and damage risks during the whole project lifetime- Generate comprehensive and high quality controlled energy yield and site suitability reports- Support our Sales Team in managing all technical requirements and specific needs addressed by our clients (site-specific power curves, noise specs, cold climate packages, etc.)- Participate in the due diligence processes covering the site wind conditions and resources, as well as the technical aspects of ENERCON turbines- Coordinate in-house tool development and update internal methodologies related to wind resource assessment and wind farm engineering- Manage internal R&D projects- Coordinate the development of new turbine towers for specific markets.
