About Samhita Prajapati
I am an experienced Engineer in the Plastics Injection Moulding industry holding a Bachelor\'s degree in Industrial Engineering (Mumbai University) and a Masters degree in Plastics Engineering and Technology (UMass - Lowell). I have excellent communication skills, a sharp presence of mind and a detail oriented mindset that has resulted in multiple notebooks filled with formulas and observations to aid my decision making.My first role in the Plastics Industry was a Process Engineering Intern at Albea Group in Thomaston, CT. I was hired as a full time employee and the end of my internship and served as the lead engineer for our largest and oldest Fragrance product line. I have experience moulding parts ranging from 3mm wide in diameter to pumps 10cm long at the widest length in PP, POM, PE and PCR. In addition to cavitation improvement, I also succeeded in improving communication between the quality, tooling and product development departments. Improvements were made in the Inspection Procedures, Preventative Maintenance procedures were conceptualized and implemented for each specific tool.I was responsible for new material validations across product lines and have experience operating Nissei, Sodick, Haitian and Sumitomo IMMs. I was considered an essential part of our manufacturing team during our transition to Silgan Dispensing. I moved to Salem, MA for personal reasons and am currently working at GandF Precision Molding as a Manufacturing Engineer. GandF is an ISO 13485 Clean Room 8 facility that manufactures primarily silicone molded parts. Learning LSR was a difficult skill but my competency is now strong enough and I currently validate new tools and materials for production in addition to my regular manufacturing responsibilities. I work with Engel IMMs and can program Viper robots with ease.
