Energy Optimization of an IoT Device: Investigated critical energy efficiency challenges in Industrial IoT (IIoT) embedded systems operating under strict battery lifetime requirements. Evaluated the nPZero System Controller as an advanced power management solution for ultra low power IIoT applications. Designed and implemented a new system architecture integrating the nPZero controller with an STM32 microcontroller and nRF9151 cellular SoC (LTE-M/NB-IoT). Engineered hardware-level power optimizations across PCB design and multi-component system topology to reduce idle and active current draw.Developed and optimized firmware for coordinated power state management between the STM32, nRF9151 and nPZero controller. Established a rigorous measurement methodology and test environment for precise current profiling across all system operating modes. Conducted comparative power consumption analysis pre- and post-optimization, delivering quantifiable improvements in battery runtime projections. Produced comprehensive technical documentation including schematics, block diagrams, firmware excerpts and detailed measurement protocols.
