WORK HISTORY
Principle Business Intelligence Developer Data Architect @Vanderbilt University Medical Center
Nashville, TN, US
Provision Databricks workspaces for data engineering and analytics on Microsoft Azure Cloud Services.Work with Business Analysts in mapping source data to the UDMH atomic and dimensional models. This entails making enhancements to the existing UDMH subject areas or creating new ones in accordance with best ETL and start schema practices for reporting and data analysis.Work with developers and business analysts in improving performance of slow running ETL jobs or SQL queries. This works involves analyzing the ETL jobs or queries and restructuring the tables involved using new distribution keys or creating zone maps. This takes advantage of Netezza\'s Asymmetric Massively Parallel Processing (AMPP) architecture.Developed Data Definition Language (DDL) migration software that scans through the json file for a given EDW release. The tool generates delta DDL code. This DDL is migrated from the development Database to the test Database and then to the Production database. For each change ticket the DDL Migrator will generate a DDL file if it detects any DDL changes between the two environments from DEV side to the UAT side in that direction. Each IBM DataStage job involved in the release is parsed to capture the set of database objects to be interrogate for migration. This automated tool is written in Powershell and Netezza Stored procedures.Developed a DDL translation tool that will take any Netezza database schema and generate the equivalent DDL schema for SQL Server. The generated DDL does more than just a DDL data type mapping. The translator considers best Microsoft recommended practices when generating SQL Server DDL: Large tables with one million plus records are created as columnstore clusters.
