As an accomplished physician and healthcare executive with expertise in clinical strategy, system operations, and patient care, I offer the healthcare strategic advisory skills and business acumen that drive improved patient outcomes and enhance operational performance at The Permanente Medical Group and Kaiser Permanente. Throughout my tenure, I have played a key role in driving clinical innovation, strengthening governance and compliance, and championing operational improvements. Leveraging my prior experience as a member of the boards of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, the Permanente Medical Group, and the Santa Clara (California) County Medical Association, I offer a board strategic insights into guiding business efforts, developing new care models, managing drug costs, and enhancing profitability. My core areas of focus include: BOARD LEADERSHIP: Added value to the boards of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group; the Permanente Medical Group; and the Santa Clara County Medical Association. STRATEGIC ADVISORY: Provided operational and clinical leadership to Kaiser Permanente as Associate Executive Director, spearheading efforts to improve patient care across 21 medical centers and more than 260 outpatient facilities in Northern California. PHARMACY: Led development of formulary strategies, benefit design, mail order services, and evidence-based drug use management initiatives, shaping annual pharmacy expenditure of $15B. BEHAVIORAL & MENTAL HEALTH: Oversaw service line comprising specialty mental health, addiction medicine, inpatient and residential services, wellness coaching, self-care, clinician and psychiatrist training, and research programs. INTERNAL & FAMILY MEDICINE: Spearheaded operational leadership and innovation across TPMG’s largest specialty and guided 2,200 board-certified physicians in delivering primary care to more than 3.5 million patients. REVENUE CYCLE MANAGEMENT: Drove documentation, coding, clinician note audits, patient registration, co-pay collection, billing, and external medical services. SUPPORTIVE CARE SERVICES: Fueled Kaiser’s work in providing a connected ecosystem of life care planning and primary and specialty palliative care services.
