I have 12+ years of experience working in different areas of database domain and distributed storage systems. Currently I am working at CosmosDB, Microsoft. Below is a summary of my contribution and learning. Microsoft CosmosDB:I am currently working in distributed store and HA layer of CosmosDB. I have actively contributed to the design and development, optimizations, pricing of Partial Document Update feature of CosmosDB. This feature enables customer to partially update documents across region with transparent conflict free updates.Since CosmosDB is fully managed cloud service built for Cloud, have exposures on cloud native resource management, consistency models, replication and some of the distributed system concepts that come naturally as a part of CosmosDB productSAP Labs HANA Database:HANA is SAP\'s flagship in-memory database. As a part of Native Store Extension, I have contributed to the development of Elastic Buffer Manager.Some of notable contributions were on dynamic memory balancing strategies across memory pools.SAP Labs ASE (Sybase ASE):As of part of Sybase ASE, I have worked on Buffer Manager and Lock manager layers. This was the area and product during my initial days of career.Individually contributed to the scaling of buffer manager size and its challenges across different platforms. Got an in-depth hands on understanding of multi threading, concurrency, lock based and lock-less data structures.
