Project engineering (process engineering bias) at an upper tier COMAH site producing agrochemicals, polymer inhibitors and intermediates. Responsible for designing and managing capital projects from conception to installation/commissioning, aiming to improve safety, capacity and operational reliability.• Conducting process engineering tasks to establish the front end design (FEED) of projects including pressure drop calculations, mass/energy balances, P & ID updates, pump and equipment sizing etc. • Producing project management documentation including CAPEX proposals, decision papers, cost estimations, schedules, risk registers and execution plans.• Preparing work scopes to tender which define all project requirements including regulatory compliance, technical specifications, engineering standards, CDM and contractor responsibilities.• Compiling equipment datasheets for enquiry to suppliers and reviewing quotations for selection.• Producing Control and Operation Philosophies to inform DCS software development and new process operating procedures. • Wide stakeholder engagement and working cross-functionally with other project engineers, health and safety personnel, plant managers, operators, labs, contractors etc.• Learning and managing multidisciplined aspects of projects such as civils, electrical, piping/mechanical and plant layout considerations. • Responsible for all project progress from inception to production handover including resource planning, cost control, material ordering, contractor management, commissioning and reviewing engineering documents/drawings for approval. • Process safety activities such as MOC, HAZID, HAZOP, DSEAR, LOPA, hazard area classification, pressure relief studies and consequence modelling.• Production support and advanced process troubleshooting (RCA).
