Leading the strategic direction and governance of Canon’s Design System to drive adoption, consistency, and scalability across digital teams.Core Responsibilities:* Define and communicate the system’s vision, strategy, and measurable OKRs.* Own the design system roadmap, prioritisation, and adoption metrics.* Lead governance processes including versioning, release management, and backlog grooming.* Review and approve major updates, contributions, and proposals.* Facilitate cross-functional rituals such as triage sessions, design system days, and contribution reviews.Collaboration Across Functions:UX / UI Designers* Work closely with UI Design team to deliver accessible, inclusive, and reusable components in Figma.* Ensure consistency in visual language and token use.* Partner with engineering to maintain design-code alignment.Front-End Engineers* Build and maintain reusable components* Integrate design tokens and ensure performance, accessibility, and scalability.* Contribute to automated testing including unit and visual regression tests.* Align implementation with Storybook and internal documentation.DevOps / DesignOps / Token Management* Establish and manage pipelines between Figma and code repositories (Bitbucket).* Maintain naming conventions and structure for all Design tokens (Foundation, Aliases, and Components)* Automate versioning and releases using tools like Style Dictionary and Tokens Studio.Documentation Team* Develop clear usage guidelines, component specs, and onboarding resources.* Maintain accurate and up-to-date contribution workflows.QA & Accessibility Specialists* Automate WCAG compliance audits.* Test interaction patterns, motion design, and overall usability.Contributors (Internal Teams)* Engage with the contribution model to propose, review, and implement changes.* Participate in feedback sessions, and governance reviews.
