Plans, develops and implements STEM-related high school career and technical programs (CTE) at twelve different high schools. KEY PROGRAMS: Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering, Biomedical Science, and Computer Science; Cisco Networking and Cybersecurity; Biotechnology and C-Tech. Program & Student Experience Improvements— Provides support to teachers in areas such as professional development, student certifications and assessments, instructional strategies, field trips, equipment, and supplies procurement, curriculum and content enrichment/development, program marketing and student recruitment. Internal Relations & Staff Development— Develops close relationships with other DCPS teams, organized several professional activities for Engineering teachers including visits to the Naval Research Labs in Anacostia, a workshop with UDC IT faculty and a seminar and discussion with astrophysics researcher at American University. Organized two-day 3D printing workshop for high school students. Organizational Planning— Developed and executed a comprehensive plan to introduce and expand the presence of student clubs (CTSOs and robotics (FIRST and VEX) to most DC public high schools. Finances & Budget— Works closely with finance team to develop and manage budgets. Interdepartmental Resolutions— Spearheaded team to resolve ongoing classroom learning technical issues. Piloted virtual desktop technology solutions with VMware, AWS and Citrix companies. Program Evaluation & Monitoring— Assisted to ensure adherence to Federal Perkins laws and regulations. Led effort to identify/hire vendor for improvement of the administration of student certification exams. Computer Science Education— Realized program as a key gap in the CTE programs. Assembled advisory board and IT Forum (March 2018) attended by C-Suite leaders from local IT companies and key DCPS stakeholders. Project Management— Created SOW document for the successful oversight of projects.
