ABOUT SAMANTHA SCHACHTER

I am a Junior in the World Bachelor in Business program, a triple degree international business program with the University of Southern California, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Bocconi University. I am a recipient of the Marshall World Bachelor Undergraduate Award Scholarship, a Marshall Deans List Scholar, and a HKUST Business School Deans List Scholar. While in university, I have become deeply involved in 180 Degrees Consulting where I currently work with UNICEF Egypt and in the past worked for a pharmaceutical social enterprise and an arts and culture NGO to design and implement community-focused initiatives. Moreover, I participated in Asia Consulting Expedition in Japan and the Global Social Impact program in Mexico City where I gained hands-on experience in international consulting. I have additionally competed in a variety of case competitions, such as Point 72\'s stock pitch competition (semi-finalist), the MICC Challenger (finalist), and 180 Internal Case Competition (1st place). These case competitions taught me how to work well in group settings under the pressure of a time constraint, strengthening my public speaking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This past summer, I interned with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, supporting the Canada Commercial Services team, applying what I’ve learned abroad and continuing to grow during this pivotal time in international trade. In Summer 2024 I served as an operations intern with Rosalind Advisors, an event-driven biotech hedge fund based in Toronto. In this position I gained exposure to day-to-day hedge fund procedures ranging from investor relations to accounting and filing procedures to project management.
