I provide UX and human-centred design (HCD) consulting to support the development of products and services that meet user needs. I help engineering teams translate technical solutions into accessible reports and presentations, ensuring clarity for a range of stakeholders. I also advise on technological options to identify the most effective and appropriate solutions. In addition to my core role, I am part of the Leadership Team in People & Transformation, contributing to strategic initiatives that shape our culture and ways of working. I also serve as a human-centred design instructor, working with the Group HCD team to embed LUMA-based design thinking across the organisation.

ABOUT SAM OSYS

I am a designer and researcher with a focus on design ethics and strategy. My work explores the intersection of people, non-humans, technology, ethics, and systems. I studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw before moving into design, where I have worked for over twenty years as a practitioner in industry. Throughout my career, I have concentrated on bringing both human and non-human perspectives into the design of products, services, and systems.I am currently doing a PhD in design ethics, examining how ethics are located and enacted within design practice in both public and private sector contexts. My research investigates questions of responsibility, accountability, and values in the ways design shapes and impacts organisations and societies. This academic work builds on my professional practice and complements my interest in advancing reflective, responsible approaches to design.I regularly contribute to debates on design responsibility through my writing and speaking. My recent publications address the ethical dimensions of design in organisational transformation and the role of design in enabling more just and sustainable futures. In addition, I am co-authoring books on topics such as change readiness and the intersection of behavioural science and design.I am affiliated with GAABS (the General Association of Applied Behavioural Scientists), a global non-profit organisation of behavioural science practitioners and scholars, and the Open University in the UK, where I am doing my PhD. I am also a human-centred design instructor, teaching design methods and strategy to professionals across various sectors. My contributions to the field have been recognised through invitations to present at international conferences on design theory and practice. I continue to develop my work at the intersection of practice and research, with a particular commitment to embedding ethical reflection into design processes.I live in Oxfordshire with my husband and pets.
