ABOUT SAMANTHA MOULLET
I didn’t have a computer in my house until high school and my parents still don’t understand how to work the TV remote so I’m just as surprised as you are to find myself in this industry. At the beginning of my career I rolled up my sleeves learning business and operations management at hotel and restaurant chains like TAJ Hotels, Rosewood Hotels, and Hooters. It was within this space that I learned that talent is equally distributed but opportunity is not. I wholeheartedly believe that some of the best employees come from the service industry and creating opportunities & pathways for them to break into tech is a passion of mine. I can also now fold the tightest hospital corners on a bed you’ve ever seen. From there, I started in recruiting in the same way as most other recruiters - which is to say that I had never heard of it nor considered it as a career path, but fell into it vis-à-vis a serendipitous sequence of events that’s entirely too long to type out. 10+ years in People & Talent later, it’s been a privilege to have played a role in building diverse teams and creating inclusive & equitable environments at some amazing startups. I know I’ve been successful when my colleagues feel seen, heard, celebrated, represented, and valued. I have a respect for the structure and process behind large organizations, but at the same time, a deeply rooted love for the passion and organized chaos behind building a vision and a dream. Did that sound cheesy? You betcha! But I like cheese, a lot. It comes with being originally from Wisconsin (obligatory GPG!) My areas of expertise include- People Operations/HR - Talent Acquisition - Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging (DEIB)- People Partnership & Management - Problem solving like it\'s nobody\'s business - Creating meaningful professional & personal relationships and building community - Cooking (I seriously make the best snickerdoodles in the world. I\'m really humble about it too)- Creating customized skincare routines for others from my old spa mgmt days - Spending as much time as possible with my elders & my pup Mildred - All things Dolly Parton or RuPaul’s Drag Race (UK is the best franchise, fight me) I am humbled by the variety of career experiences I have had thus far and find myself eager and excited to take on anything that comes my way. If you want to talk about any of the above, especially Dolly or Drag Race, please say hi!
