The Ugly Art Studio: Reimagining Artmaking for Health and WellbeingThe Ugly Art Studio is an Arts-in-Health initiative based in Lake Nona, FL. Born out of research showing that artmaking is really good for us, we create welcoming, pressure-free, process-over-perfection art experiences that invite more people to access the benefits of creativity. Because the research is clear—art doesn’t have to be good to be good for you!Our mission is to make creativity an accessible and trusted resource for community health and wellbeing. We design and curate art kits and workshops that destigmatize artmaking and educate on the science behind it: making art boosts brain health, lowers stress, and strengthens community connection.Where you’ll find us: We partner with healthcare organizations nationwide to deliver customized art kits for patients and group care workshops. Locally, we host art-for-wellness sessions for workplaces, teams, and community groups—and sell our curated art kits directly to the public.What’s next: We’re laying the groundwork for our first brick-and-mortar studio in Orlando—a space open to the public, available for private workshops, and designed to serve as our community’s trusted hub for social and arts prescribing.Want to collaborate?
