ABOUT SAMANTHA WOOD

My career in recruitment started when I was offered an unexpected opportunity with a well‑known high street agency. I took a chance, stepped into the world of recruitment… and I’ve never really left. More than 20 years on, I’m still genuinely passionate about what I do.Over the years I’ve worked my way from Recruitment Advisor to Resourcing Specialist/Partner and into management roles, giving me a really rounded view of how great hiring and great people practices can shape a business.I specialise in Retail & Tech recruitment, but my remit has always been broad. I’ve supported roles across Manufacturing, Distribution, Operational Contact Centres, Tech Services, Marketing, Retail Operations, Risk & Compliance, Transformation, Business Development, Finance and HR — right up to Director level. I love the variety and the chance to work with so many different types of people and teams.Alongside recruitment, I’ve spent time in Training, Learning & Development, designing and delivering programmes that help people grow and feel confident in their roles. I’ve always had a real passion for HR, whether that’s supporting culture, improving employee experience or helping organisations navigate change.I’m a big believer that work is easier — and far more enjoyable — when you can bring a sense of humour to the table. I enjoy working collaboratively, building strong relationships and partnering closely with stakeholders to understand their world and deliver what they truly need.What keeps me in this profession is simple: I love working with people. Recruitment is unpredictable, fast‑moving and full of moments where you can genuinely make a difference. No two days are the same, and that’s exactly what I enjoy.I’m always happy to connect with people from all kinds of industries and backgrounds.
