ABOUT SAMANTHA STERKENBURG

Hi there! I\'m Sammie, a dedicated HR professional with a B.A. in Business Management, with a minor in Communication from Hope College (Go Dutch!). I began my career in People Operations, growing my skills in employee life cycle management, benefits administration, payroll, and HRIS systems. I progressed into a Senior HR Generalist role, where I gained more experience with employee relations, performance management, learning & development, culture initiatives, and more. What I love about HR is getting to work with people every day. Whether they are a current or prospective employee, I strive to ensure everyone feels welcomed, heard, and included. Known for being Type A, I enjoy process improvement, staying organized, and always finding a better way. I pride myself in the ability to see projects through from start to finish, and my ability to partner with a wide variety of teams to help them achieve their goals. A fun fact about me is that my hometown is so small it doesn\'t have any stop lights (Leland, MI)! So it is surprising I now live in NYC, but so far I am loving the change since moving here in 2019.
