About Samantha Semsel
As a research scholar at Lafayette College, I combine my passions for music and politics to explore the musical talents and interests of the US presidents and their implications for social theory and policy. My research, supervised by Professor Torres, aims to highlight the importance of investing in music education and its benefits for society and democracy. I am also a musician and a student conductor at Lafayette College, where I work with Dr. O\'Riordan, a professor and conductor for the Lafayette College Concert Band. I conduct the Lafayette College Pep Band and assist Dr. O\'Riordan in the concert band rehearsals and performances. I have also studied abroad Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Sevilla Spain, where I improved my Spanish language skills and learned about the Spanish culture.
