Subject matter expert in 2LOD credit risk oversight of the £50bn Retail Mortgage and BTL portfolio. Applying expertise to conduct close & continuous monitoring, deep dives, thematic reviews or dip testing of new business propositions and monitoring of the stock portfolio. Understanding and challenging the key risks within Retail Mortgage portfolios. Incorporating sustainability and climate risk into credit risk assessments.• Responsible for leading the engagement with key business stakeholders and divisions on key risk aspects. Provide clear & effective advice, challenge and expertise on a range of complex issues, manage stakeholder engagement & buy-in to agree proportionate remedial actions for any risks / control gaps identified. Attends designated Credit Risk Committees to present material findings or escalate areas of dispute.• Contribute to and support the business to act upon the findings from second line thematic reviews to ensure compliance to relevant regulations, Group policy and industry best practice. Supporting the business in delivering Group Strategy and accountable for ensuring that sufficient action is taken to mitigate risks identified or enhance strategic deliverables.• Assist in developing robust oversight practices, identifying new approaches that should be embedded and taking personal ownership for implementing necessary changes to drive forward the capability and effectiveness of the Prudential Risk department.• Deliver timely analysis on the Retail Credit Risk portfolios to enable robust day to day challenge of 1st line business teams to protect the Group from unexpected financial shocks. • Deputise for the Team Head when required.
