ABOUT SAMANTHA BROOKES
With over twenty years of experience in various educational roles, I hold a PGCE in History, an NPQSL, and am currently pursuing a PGCert in Dyslexia and Literacy Difficulties (AMBDA) at the University of Birmingham. My ambition is to ensure all students I teach have equal opportunities in the classroom, regardless of any challenges they may encounter. I am dedicated to evolving my skills to specialize in teaching and assessing Dyslexia and Literacy difficulties.Throughout my career, I\'ve occupied numerous senior leadership roles, directed teams focused on Learning, Teaching, Wellbeing, and Pastoral care. As a level 3 DSL, I\'ve significantly contributed to leading professional development across the school. My approach is research-driven, aiming to continually improve the educational experiences of my students.I have experience teaching GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, and the International Baccalaureate, and serve as an examiner for the IB in History HL and the Internal Assessment.In the upcoming months, I am excited to share insights and reflections on my journey through the PGCert, as I work towards becoming a specialist teacher and assessor for Dyslexia.
