ABOUT SAM WEISGARBER
Sam Weisgarber is a senior claims leader, attorney, and risk professional with a diverse claims practice across multiple lines of business including admitted, non-admitted, specialty, professional liability, standard, and non-standard segments of the insurance industry. Sam is currently the Claims Litigation Manager (Head of Litigation) for a midsize super regional carrier responsible for the vision, leadership, and execution of the organizations\' litigation strategy, outcomes, and successes. Sam manages the panel counsel, rate negotiation, performance, and quality assurance program for the 30+ state operation where he is responsible for finding the absolute best defense and coverage counsel to protect his policyholders and organization. He provides authority to adjusters and claims staff to settle or try complex and high exposure matters and serves as a liaison for various business units to ensure that his business unit is properly resourced to provide superior claims services to their policyholders and customers. As part of the organizations\' senior claims leadership team he works across a wide array of disciplines in ensuring strategic market decisions, entry into new states and markets, and ensuring adjusters are trained and equipped to handle all claims and lawsuits in their territories. He provides insight and market analysis for new products and new opportunities. Sam also brings a unique depth of experience in coverage analysis and policy implementation, general commercial liability (including product liability, premises liability, commercial auto and transportation, third-party property, catastrophic tort injuries, and “coverage b” claims), employment practices liability, policy and product development, and alternative risk programs. He had created and implemented surplus lines business programs from the ground up, managed cross functional teams, and cultivated a robust skill set related to marketing and distribution of insurance products.
