I currently serve as Vice President of Federal Government Relations and Global Policy at McDonald’s, leading the McDonald\'s System\'s government affairs and public policy strategy across the U.S. federal government and global stakeholders. My work focuses on aligning policy engagement with business strategy and enterprise risk.Over more than 10 years at McDonald’s, I have held leadership roles across federal and global government affairs, advising senior leaders on legislative, regulatory, and geopolitical developments that impact the business. I led federal government relations through the COVID‑19 pandemic – securing essential business designation, access to federal relief for franchise small businesses, and support for economic recovery and workforce investment. I also spearheaded a multi‑year, cross‑industry effort to strengthen the franchise business model as a driver of entrepreneurship, economic growth, job creation, and economic mobility.I established McDonald’s AI-enabled Global Government Relations Center of Excellence and the company’s Washington-based diplomatic engagement function to align advocacy, improve stakeholder engagement, scale best practices across markets, and anticipate policy and regulatory risks. I oversee political engagement, federal consultants and coalitions, and regularly engage senior policymakers, regulators, and diplomatic officials.Earlier in my career, I served as a legislative staffer to a senior U.S. Senator and as a Senior Public Affairs Advisor at a major law firm on behalf of multinational corporations, trade associations, and nonprofits. As a former business owner, who built and operated a profitable franchise business, my work is grounded in practical understanding of business and entrepreneurship, public policy and advocacy leadership.
