Bioengineering Research GroupI\'m developing a geometrically detailed finite element head model (FEHM) for a subject specific elder patient, with the intention of assessing the injury mechanisms involved in a TBI event involving a head impact direct to a rigid floor. Challenges include representing the behaviour of the soft tissue component at high strains and strain-rates, developing a CAD model with sufficient geometric detail to accurately represent an elder patient, and validating the model using a reliable process.
