Responsible for Safety, Health and Environment across Northern Europe sites including UK, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.• Head of Department for the Facilities Management and Security Teams at the UK Distribution Centre. • Ensure effective leadership of direct and indirect reports, prioritising their personal and professional development, to excel in achievements.• Manage safety and environmental risk control required for an Upper Tier COMAH Operator, storing Extremely Flammable aerosols and Flammable Liquids.• Responsible for Safety Critical Maintenance of COMAH systems, along with compliance e.g PUWER, LOLER and DSEAR.• Lead the maintenance of the COMAH Safety Report, point of contact with the Competent Authority (CA) in interventions, namely the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Environment Agency (EA).• Ensure risk control of the Major Accident to The Environment (MATTE) responsible for Environmental Management System.• Lead with a positive ‘Safety Enabling’ mindset. Ensuring Safety is not seen as a barrier to any improvement or situation.• Custodian of the change management system, ensuring compliance across all business functions.• Lead and support audits of key risk control systems, e.g. Contractor Management, Permit-to-work and Management of Change.• Site lead for competence on Human Factors and Safety Critical Task Analysis (SCTA)• Lead site Security strategy in line with current UK guidance, advice and visits from Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSA)• Lead development and training of Internal and External Emergency Plans (EEP) working alongside primary and secondary responders which support major incidents.• Lead risk control for large and complex volumes of workplace traffic, carrying hazardous substances, particular focus on the safety of pedestrians.• Ensure risk control of manufacturing and logistics processes, putting efficiency, operational requirements and CI at the heart of all safety and risk management decisions.
