About Sam Slade
Sam began his career as a producer and on-air personality on the award winning Dudley and Bob Show on KLBJ-FM, a producer at ESPN Austin and Clear Channel, and hosted and produced his own show on KMAC radio. Sam’s first campaign job was as a canvasser for Sen. John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign in his hometown of Austin, Texas. Following an internship with former Texas Congressman Chris Bell’s 2006 gubernatorial campaign, and a stint as an aide to Ray McMurrey’s U.S. Senate campaign, Sam found himself in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he worked as an assistant campaign director for the DNC, and the Obama campaign, through Grassroots Campaigns. He studied writing and theater at The Second City Chicago. After graduating, he began working for Chicago Alderman Michele Smith, spending his nights performing stand up at the Laugh Factory. Shortly after that, he returned to the Obama Campaign as a member of the Digital Field Team at the national headquarters. After the 2012 cycle, he returned to Austin and briefly worked for Glen Maxey at the Texas Democratic Party before being hired by Stanford Campaigns.
