ABOUT SAM REDA

Sam Reda has over 45 years of experience and expertise in investment management. He previously served as Chairman of Triasima Investment Management, Vice-Chair and Executive Vice-President of Fiera Capital, President and CEO of Natcan Investment Management and Executive Vice-President of TAL Institutional Management. Since 2011, Mr. Reda has been President of Maralex Capital, a firm specializing in strategic consulting for the investment management industry. Amongst Maralex major clients is the Canso Investment Counsel Group, including PBY Capital. He is also co-founder of Alpha CCO Software. Mr. Reda is a member of several boards of directors and investment or advisory committees, including: •Lysander Funds •PBY Capital (Vice-Chair) •Canso Innovations •AlphaCCO •The XChange Company •Jesselton Capital Management •Pension Committee for the employees of Concordia University (Vice-Chair) •Investment Committee of the Pension Fund of the employees of Concordia University (Chair) •Concordia University Intergenerational Fund (Chair) •Investment Committee of the McGill University Health Centre Foundation (past Chair of the Foundation) •Investment Committee of the Jewish General Hospital Foundation •Canadian Board of Directors of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and various of its sub-committees •Advisory Committee of the J. McConnell Family Foundation Employee Pension Plan •Steering Committee for the educational events of CFA Montreal •Board of Governors of the McGill University Health Centre Foundation •Investment Committee of a major family office servicing various ultra-high net worth and family offices. •Canadian Family Offices Editorial Advisory Board Previously, he served on the boards of several investment management and insurance companies, including the Quebec Bar Professional Liability Insurance Fund, Triasima Investment Management, Fiera Capital, Natcan Investment Management and CFA Montreal. Mr. Reda has launched two major annual investment education events in Montréal: in the “Pension Fund Management Seminar (Séminaire sur la gestion des caisses de retraite)” for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and in 2009, started an annual series on Family Offices for CFA Montreal. He continues to organize both events. Mr. Reda holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder. He is also a graduate of the Directors Education Program offered by the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
